I love a good enemies-to-lovers story and office romances tend to be pretty tricky. But I shouldn’t have doubted Ms. Lee, sorry ?. Because she can WRITE!! Imho this had enough charm and wit to be a full length novel. The characters were refreshing even though Liam was the typical work hard play harder playboy in the beginning of the story. But Avery was refreshing as a smart and resilient and packs a mean punch ? heroine. She definitely held her own against @$$holes and smug, over confident alphas. Their chemistry was off the charts hawt ?. I wanted more. More of their backstory. More of the push and pull during the six months they had to work together to really feel the angst and burn of hating each other because they were so attracted to one another but couldn’t be together because of the no- fraternization policy at work. The writing is top notch. The characters are not one dimensional, but fully fleshed out and likable, reason why I wanted more of them. The dialogue is great. It’s realistic, funny and smart and definitely hawt at times. My oh my does Liam have a dertay mouth. Loving it!!! And Avery is no stick in the mud, woman knows what she wants. Especially after spending seven years in a lackluster relationship with a man who definitely didn’t know what it took to please her.But goods things await those who work hard and aren’t necessarily looking for love. Because all Avery wanted was one night to let loose before she had to figure out where her next stage in life would take her. Enter yummy Liam. He was so much fun!!! I loved being in both of their mindsets, but Ms. Lee really made Liam so darn funny and likable and hawt! My goodness that man made ME blush.Great pacing of story. I can’t recommend this story enough. I read it KU, but fell in love with it so much I had to have it for my forever collection. Definite reread material here folks. But my only complaint is that I want a full length version of this story cause I’m greedy like that!! This short story is all feel good fun. No cheating whatsoever with the main couple. Which as an avid enthusiast of romance I truly appreciate my safe reads. My heart can only take so much y’know? But I feel like if this was a full length story it could have had the best kind of angst. Not the overkill kind, just the right amount to get the heartbeat going double time. But this was perfect, really. It had the best of everything, only in smaller doses. Great leads, great storytelling and a pretty good HEA. I’ll try to let my excessiveness with wanting a FL story go, sorry sorry.Just, you know do yourself a favor and read this story. You’ll be glad you did ?<<<< that’s me after reading this story.
